Brand: Asherah Birth
A flowy logo for an Organic Oasis for total Body Wellness
Kiana came to me about a year into a business she purchased, as she was embarking on a name change and new branding. She has a big vision for her path: an organic oasis for total body wellness for prenatal health, yoga and nutrition, pregnancy education and awareness as well as Doula services, and all-stages yoga classes, workshops and retreat-style programs. Kiana is a purpose-led and spiritually driven conscious-preneur who wants to engage the physical, emotional and soulful elements of individuals and their experiences to grow and move through life with ease. She values flow, natural and organic, and connection to Divinity and brings that to every interaction she has in her business.
The first step in my process is always a conversation so I can get clear on the energy behind the person and business, understand specific desires and requirements and begin getting a vision of their brand energy. So we chatted - for a long time! There was a BIG lesson in this one for me—more on that in a bit.
Take a look at where we started.
Where we begin is often not where we land in terms of logo and design, because it takes time to discern between what’s wanted and what the brand energy is.
Learning important lessons on being the creator
Of course it’s important to understand a clients needs and chat through anything meaningful or specific they’d like incorporated into their logo. In this case, I allowed the client to take too much of the lead instead of trusting myself to create based on her energy signature. Visual branding is only as impactful as its energetic match to the business.
Once it was apparent that the energy was off — she does not vibe with owls and butterflies 😂 Those things are lovely, but they’re not meant for her logo and they don’t match her energy in the most aligned way. So what is Kiana’s energy signature?
Joyful
Playful
Bright
Knowledgeable
Fun
Loyal
Ease
Once we stepped away from what I’d been creating and got into some different energy, it came within minutes. While we were still on the call talking about the new direction of the logo, Kiana sent me a little drawing. I knew what I was seeing wasn’t “it” but I also knew we were in a deep energy exchange because when I received the picture, I was already creating off of what she’d mentioned.
Variations, brand board, and colors.
Creating a logo is so much more than shapes and colors to me. Clients come to know that when they work with me, I create based on what I FEEL from them, and it’s always a fun and interesting experience! I am grateful to have been a part of this process with Kiana, and learned so much about the flow of creativity. Check her out below:
